"The German artist getting his first retrospective at Tate, is maddening, elusive and enthralling "
-Richard Dorment

Polke is a German painter that had launched a Capitalist Realism in response to Pop Art in 1963, exhibiting one of the first works in the art genre. He had illustrated the fascinating life and an insight into post war German like no other. he had believed that the post war success of Germany tended to air-brush away history and that the consumerism and materialistic drive in Europe was to be despised.   This massive exhibition which consists on fourteen rooms cover almost every aspect of this diverse and unique talent. The variety of methods of communication used was staggering, thus it is almost much to take in, in only one visit. This exhibition is definitely a MUST SEE because it is just so exceptional to have so much Polke art in one place and will probably never be repeated. Sadly,it is only until the 8th of February 2015. I was lucky enough to get my hands on two complimentary tickets from my mother who had went to see another exhibition at Tate Modern. I still do recommend seeing the other main exhibitions at Tate on Levels 1, 3, and 4. Afterwards, you can have a quick drink at their cafeé on the top floor and dine at the Tate café on the 1st floor.
