LÉntrecote

After Georgia and I finished our last paper on the 13th of January, we decided to treat ourselves to a nice steak dinner. We've planned this trip to LÉntrecôte for ages now ever since 2016 but we never really got to it. We were either too busy, too broke or not in the country. Finally this year, we managed to find a day where both of us were free, not broke and hungry and not forgetting in the country. Initially, we wanted to have steak at their Soho branch but when we wanted to book online, it was fully booked on the 13th. What a shame.

We had three other options, to have it at their Marylebone, Bank or Canary Wharf branch. We opted for the Bank branch because it is close to the area we live in. Georgia was the first to arrive because obviously I can never be on time. She did'nt even have to sue which was great. She was seated immediately. It was kinda surprising because usually you would have to que for ages. That day was a Friday and we went during dinner time as well! The restaurant was packed but not to the extent that there were no seats.

LÉntrecôte only serves Steak and Fries for their mains that cost £24 per person. A starter - plate of salad is included in this meal. You get a starter and two portions of steak-frites. There are only three options for your meat, either well done, rare or blue. We both had ours rare. We each got approximately 8 slices of steak per portion and a generous portion of french fries (just how I like it hehe). You get two portions of the steak-frites. Once you're almost done with your first portion, the waitresses come over and 'top up' your plate with more steak and fries. yummmmm

The steak was cooked to perfection and the fries were perfect. The restaurant however is famous for its sauce. The key dish to the sauce is butter alongside other ingredients and herbs. But to me, the sauce kinda tasted like Thai Green Curry minus the whole spice. it was good don't get me wrong but I just expected more from all the hype on social media and from word of mouth.

For dessert, we shared this meringue ice cream sandwich that was topped off with whipped cream and chocolate. As you can see form the picture above, our dessert was practically swimming in chocolate sauce! Crazy! It was just so so good. The chocolate sauce wasn't too over powering which made it easy to eat and finish without feeling too full. If you're in London or Paris, don't forget to try LÉntrecôte! I'll leave the link down below!

Enjoy!
